My usual m.o. for hands and feet is to start out with really basic shapes combined with a gesture of what I want the hands or feet to be doing. And even then I sometimes get lost in the detail first on the hands and feet. Whenever that happens I just erase and start over. Nothing works if the gesture doesn't work...
