Congratulations to a Legend!

Dominic Scibilia, Professor of Illustration at the Cleveland Institute of Art was recently awarded the prestigious Victor Schreckengost Award. He has been justly welcomed in to CIA's Hall of Fame for his years of excellence as an educator, illustrator and mentor. Over the course of his illustrious career he has seen students go on to long careers in all facets of illustration in all corners of the world. Together with equally influential educator and illustrator, John Chuldenko, the Illustration department has successfully navigated the massive sea changes that have occurred in the industry over three decades to see the department grow to the largest in the school ( a fine arts school...).

For all of us who have benefited and continue to benefit from your incredible inspiration and wealth of knowledge, Dom, "Thank You" will never suffice. Know that we will continue your to share legacy in every aspect of our work be it as illustrators or educators. In the meantime, we CIA illustration alum, eagerly await the triumphant decoration of your partner in crime, the aforementioned Mr. Chuldenko. For as we all know, you can't say "Dom", without saying "John"! And for posterity sake, I dug out this old sketch done during my second week in the department...It's Dom as I'll always remember him!
